The Importance of Being Earnest
February 10 @ 7:30 pm
The Importance of Being Earnest is a Victorian Era comedy farce written by Oscar Wilde.
John Worthing, a carefree young gentleman, is the inventor of a fictitious brother “Earnest” who allows him an excuse to leave his country home and journey to London where he stays with his friend and confidant Algernon Moncrieff.
John loves Algernon’s cousin Gwendolen Fairfax, but when he asks for Gwendolen’s hand from the formidable Lady Bracknell, John has to reveal that he was left in a handbag at Victoria Station. A scandal indeed! Mr. Worthing and Algernon both must prove their love and worth in the eyes of society, in this classic comedy!
